Glen Roberts

Glen Roberts is director of U.S. Commercial Service for the U.S. Department of Commerce, where he provides consulting and training in the areas of export business and economic development, and the renewable energy and alternative fuels industry sector. His professional experience began while attending college and working for 3M. Glen gained international trade experience with an international freight forwarder and logistics firm becoming an expert in letters of credit, state department licenses and hazardous materials. Glen has been recognized by industry as a top leader by the International Green Industrial Hall of Fame.

Sharon Starcher

Champion

Sharon Starcher has over 40 years of experience in diverse business positions. As a department chair in the College of Business and Management at DeVry University, Fresno, Starcher coordinates with faculty in Fresno and Bakersfield to insure academic rigor and an enhanced learning environment for students, facilitates industry advisory forums to identify the needs of local employers, engages with local community business associations, and seeks out networking opportunities for students. Since she came to DeVry University, Fresno in 2010, Starcher consistently strives to identify leadership opportunities and/or service based learning for students to help them gain experience in preparation for their careers. She draws from her diverse business background and knowledge to engage students in the classroom and strives to provide client based learning when feasible.

Erik Steeb

Champion

Through his roles with the Cleantech Open, the Los Angeles Cleantech Incubator (LACI) and First Look West, Erik Steeb brings a wealth of relevant experience to cleantech innovation and entrepreneurship. As Executive Director of the Western Division of the Cleantech Open, Steeb is responsible for all aspects of the Cleantech Open accelerator in the western eight states of the US, driving fundraising, entrepreneur and mentor recruitment and development programs, partner engagement, market sector strategies and investor engagement. As VP Programs at LACI, Erik runs Portfolio Company and Advisor programs with an eye toward scaling breadth, quality and capacity. Erik also focuses on expanding LACI satellite programs and sits on the executive committee of the First Look West DOE University Clean Energy Challenge.

Through these organizations, Erik works with more than 150 early stage cleantech companies each year, honing their business strategies, connecting them with investors, customers, business partners, and advisors. Erik is also co-founder and managing director of Segue Consulting, providing interim operations and executive office leadership for early to mid-stage companies in cleantech and high-tech.

Prior to his move to cleantech, Erik held senior management roles in high-tech marketing, sales and business development, most recently with Intel Corporation. At Intel, Erik lead the company’s Europe, Middle East & Africa marketing organization, co-founded Intel’s alliances and business development organization and lead a worldwide sales division delivering over $6B in annual revenue to the company.

Steeb holds a BS in Electrical Engineering with highest honors from the Georgia Institute of Technology and an MBA from UCLA’s Anderson School of Management.

Ed is currently vice president of Consumer Marketing Manager for Bank of America. His professional experience included over thirty years of leadership, sales and service experience in the financial services industry. He also has a solid history of creating and developing high performing management and sales teams. He is a strong advocate in creating and developing talent of leaders that coach their teams to achieve and exceed sales and service performance on a consistent performance. Ed is specialized in being able to develop a collaborative effort with business partners to achieve performance goals across all lines of business and create a work environment that is focused, engaged, and high performing Associates.
